rewrite this title NVRLand Limited Edition Degen-Cast Collectible Car Packaging

Even companies that sell NFTs—exclusive digital art and content—understand that sometimes customers crave something they can physically hold. This insight led two NFT projects to collaborate with NVRLand Labs, creating a limited-edition series of die-cast toy cars, each paired with a unique NFT digital artwork.

When you’re charging between $129 and $2,000 per collectible, every detail matters, including the packaging. NVRLand Labs, in partnership with Fastkit Luxury Packaging, designed each collector’s box to be as bold and polished as the NFTs themselves. Their meticulous attention to detail ensures an unforgettable unboxing experience for every collector.

Crafting the Perfect Unboxing Experience

The designers began by developing a cohesive look for the entire line of 2,800 limited-edition collectibles. They chose offset-printed black boxes on C1S paperboard, following a consistent design theme.

Each box cleverly utilizes various print and finishing techniques for maximum effect. For instance, the top of the telescoping box lid features a large, hot foil-stamped icon that indicates the NFT project affiliation—like a silver foil ape’s head for “Degenerate Ape Academy” or a white foil panda head for “Degenerate Trash Pandas.” (Oh my, these names!)

Details That Elevate the Experience

The packaging also features soft-touch lamination, adding extra tactile appeal that contrasts nicely with the slightly raised Spot Gloss UV logos.

The sides of the lid showcase artwork related to each brand, such as the “Ape” box, where the brand house and “Degen APE” logos are enhanced with Spot Gloss UV. Inside, NFT characters printed on the box sides seem to leap off the surface, thanks to the contrast between the matte soft-touch laminate and Spot Gloss UV.

A tiny “Cupcake” icon hints at an exclusive digital NFT item hidden within.

Innovative Packaging Design

The themed insert tray, offset printed with soft-touch lamination and Spot Gloss UV, snugly holds the vehicle display box, keeping it secure during shipping. This isn’t just a typical clear-window box; it’s a die-cut sleeve slipped over a transparent acrylic box.

The sleeve not only displays the NFT character’s name but also features themed imagery that matches the car inside. Tapping a sticker on the acrylic box with your NFC-enabled phone reveals the limited-edition, one-of-a-kind digital artwork included with the vehicle.

While I must admit I’m still a little hazy about some aspects of the NFT world, there’s no mistaking how effective this combination of print techniques and branding can be. Quite simply it achieves a uniform look while still allowing us to tell our “Apes” from our “Trash Pandas” 😉
